2 Configuration Quick Start

Verifying Software/Firmware Version Information

Before you begin the following procedures, please make sure that all T1, E1
cards and/or PRI cards are connected to their respective telco lines. Multi-
Tech Systems is constantly enhancing and updating our product, and despite
our best efforts, it is possible that the product you received will have been
revised by the time you install it. The following steps are recommended
after the installation of your CommPlete Communications Server to ensure
that you have the most current firmware and software revisions.
RASExpress Software
Telnet to the RASCard. Login as supervisor. The initial main menu screen
includes the current version number for RASExpress. Please note this version
number on the Site Information sheet.
T1 Card(s)
Telnet to the Controller. Issue the command T1status x (where x is the
CommPlete slot number; for example T1status 5b for the T1-1 card, and
T1status 5c for the T1-2 card in slot 5). The T1 Card Status screen is
displayed. The current Firmware Version/Bootcode Version is listed at the
bottom of the screen. Please note these version numbers on the Site
Information sheet.
E1 Card(s)
Telnet to the Controller. Issue the command E1status x (where x is the
CommPlete slot number; for example E1status 5b for the E1-1 card, and
E1status 5c for the E1-2 card in slot 5). The E1 Card Status screen is
displayed. The current Firmware Version/Bootcode Version is listed at the
bottom of the screen. Please note these version numbers on the Site
Information sheet.
PRI Card(s)
Telnet to the Controller. Issue the command PRIstatus xy (where xy is the
CommPlete slot number; for example PRIstatus 6b for the PRI card. The
PRIHD23/30B PRI Card Status screen is displayed. The current Firmware
Version/Bootcode Version is listed at the bottom of the screen. Please note
these version numbers on the Site Information sheet.
MR9600 Controller Card
From the Controller or RS-232 interface, issue the command ver. This will
return with the current firmware version for the controller. Please note this
version number on the Site Information sheet.
HD8/16 Modem Cards
Telnet to the Controller. Issue the command online xy (where xy is the
CommPlete slot number for the modem card). Once the modem card is in
