Course of action
A Sector can be created and immediately use an
available map.
→ Click on the Create empty button to start from
scratch without using available maps.
→ Enter a display name for the new Sector. This is
the name that will be displayed in the AMS for the
Sector.
→ Enter a Sector hostname. This is the (Docker-
internal) hostname of the vms that handles this
Sector. This can be set to the same as the display
name at first
→ Click on the Create empty Sector button to create
the new Sector in the UI.
→ Right-click on the new Sector and click Info.
→ Contact your server operator or service provider
giving them the information shown in the Sector info,
especially the Sector ID shown.
See chapter
Adding a Sector to the AMS
the required changes in the docker-compose.yml.
→ Your server operator or service provider should be
able to tell you the missing information, i.e. the Sector
hostname (here identical to the service name, e.g.
vms2-tests), the VMS port offset and the MUS port
offset.
→ Right-click on the new Sector and click Edit.
→ Enter the server hostname as provided by the
server operator/service provider.
→ Enter VMS port offset. This is the numerical
difference between the VMS ports exposed on the
server and the Docker-internal ports of the VMS
(11001-11014). That means that if the docker-
compose.yml file has a port mapping
11021-11034:11001-11014
VMS port offset is 20.
→ Enter MUS port offset. This is the numerical
difference between the MUS ports exposed on the
server and the Docker-internal ports of the VMS
(21638-21644). That means that if the docker-
compose.yml file has a port mapping
21668-21674:21638-21644
MUS port offset is 30.
