Installing a PCIe riser
Prerequisites
Before you perform this procedure, make sure that you have the following items available:
•
The components included with the hardware option kit
•
T-10 Torx screwdriver
Procedure
1.
Power down the server.
2.
Disconnect all peripheral cables from the server.
3.
Remove the system board module from the chassis.
4.
Place the system board module on a flat, level work surface.
5.
Remove the system board module access panel.
6.
Remove the midplane interposer, if installing the secondary or tertiary riser.
7.
Install the riser:

Primary riser

Negotiable link widths
Card length
Half height, half length (low profile)
