[Original Size] field: Select the size of the document to be scanned. Selection is possible between
"Automatic", "Standard Size" (Refer to "
Size]"), "U1" through "U6" and "Custom". "U1" through "U6" will display custom sizes that you have
registered previously. Registration of these custom sizes "U1" through "U6" is accomplished by
selecting [Custom] first and then performing the appropriate operation in the [Custom size] dialog box.

Inch specifications: 34" x 44"R, 34" x 44"E, 22" x 34"R, 22" x 34"E, 17" x 22"R, 17" x 22"E,

[Original Type] field: Select the type according to the document to be scanned. Selection is possible
between "Standard" and "Text/Line".
[Density] field: Adjusts the level of contrast. The available selections will differ depending upon the setting
made under [Original Type].
• If [Standard] is selected as the [Original Type]...
The density can be adjusted to any 0.5 increment between 1 and 7, in any one of three settings:
"Light", "Normal" or "Dark". It is also possible to select "Automatic" and have the density
automatically adjusted according to the document itself.
• If [Text/Line] is selected as the [Original Type]...
The density can be adjusted to any 0.5 increment between 1 and 7.
[Resolution] field: Select the scanning resolution. Selection is possible between "200", "300", "400", "600",
"1200" and "2400" dpi.
