Measuring the crankshaft end play

Removing the drive gear wheel of the balancer shaft

Insert the crankshaft into the right section of the engine case.
Info
Do not forget the dowels.
Mount the left section of the engine case.
Mount and tighten the screws.

Mount the dial gauge support on the engine case and mea­
sure and note down the crankshaft axial play.

Crankshaft - axial play
If the measured value does not meet specifications:
-
Remove the crankshaft.

Remove the crankshaft bearing inner race.
-
Calculate the thickness of the compensating disks.
-
Add or remove compensating disks equally on both
sides.
Info
If the axial play is too small, remove compen­
sating disks.
If the axial play is too large, add compensating
disks.

Install the crankshaft bearing inner race.
-
Position the balancer shaft with special tool
I Separator plate (77229032000)

Mount special tool
I Protection cap (77229031000)

Press out the drive gear wheel of the balancer shaft.
