9.2 Service chart

Type

Keep the motor housing clean
(otherwise cooling is affected).
Electric motor

The motor housing may only be
dismantled by Grundfos.
Supply cable
All
Check the gearbox for leaks twice a

Impeller

Spray the winch with a protective

coating of oil at regular intervals to
prevent corrosion.
Regular oiling or greasing

Lubrication
The roller bearings are
maintenance-free. They should be
replaced if they get noisy.
Change the oil after 500 operating
hours.
Then every 8,000 operating hours
or after one year of operation.
Check lip seals, speedy sleeve and
wear ring and replace them in case
of wear.
If the oil contains water, replace the
mechanical shaft seal.
The gear teeth and the bearing
bushes must be lubricated twice
a year with an all-purpose grease.
Inspection
For motors filled with dielectric
oil, oil level check and oil change
are not required.
The supply cable must be
checked twice a year for surface
damage, strain, kinks, etc.
If damaged, the cable must be
replaced by Grundfos.
Check the oil level twice a year.
If refilling is required. See
section 9.3.2 Oil quantity.
Check the impeller regularly for
wear and tear. Remove any
material wound round the
impeller, such as ropes, threads,
etc. which may cause uneven
running and oscillation of the
installation. In case of strong
turbulence, cleaning is
absolutely necessary.
Check the wire regularly and
always before using the winch.
Replace the wire, if required.
