8-3 Troubleshooting
Symptom
The Servomotor
operates mo-
mentarily, but it
does not operate
after that.
The Servomotor
rotates without a
command.
The Servomotor
rotates in the
opposite
direction from
the command.
Servomotor
rotation is
unstable.

8-13
Probable cause
The Servomotor Power
Cable is wired incorrectly.
The Encoder Cable is
wired incorrectly.
The command pulse input
is incorrect.
The Servo Drive is faulty.
The CW input and CCW
input are connected
reversely.
The Servomotor Power
Cable or Encoder Cable is
wired incorrectly.
The coupling system
between the Servomotor
shaft and the mechanical
system has eccentricity
and declination, loose
screws, or the torque is
fluctuating due to
engagement between
pulleys or gears.
The load's moment of
inertia exceeds the Servo
Drive's allowable value.
The pulse signal line's
connections failure.
The gain doesn't match.
The CN1 input signal is
chattering.
Items to check
Check the wiring of the Servomotor
Power Cable's phases U, V, and W.
Check the Encoder Cable's wiring.
Check the command pulse type.
Check the command pulse's volt-
age.
---
Check the Controller's command
pulse type and the Servo Drive's
command pulse type.
Check the wiring of the Servomotor
Power Cable's phases U, V, and W
and check the Encoder Cable's wir-
ing.
Check the mechanical system's
coupling section.
Try rotating the Servomotor without
a load. (Disconnect it from the me-
chanical system.)
Try rotating the Servomotor without
a load. (Disconnect it from the me-
chanical system.)
Check the pulse signal wiring at the
Controller and Servo Drive.
Check the Controller's command
pulse type and the Servo Drive's
command pulse type.
According to load (non-load is in-
cluded), adjust an inertia ratio and
a gain to a suitable value from fac-
tory setting.
Check the RUN Command Input
(RUN), Deviation Counter Reset In-
put (ECRST), Zero Speed Desig-
nation Input (VZERO), Internally
set Speed Selection 1, 2 (VSEL1,
VSEL2).
Countermeasures
Wire correctly.
Wire correctly.
Set the command pulse in-
put appropriately.
Connect a resistor that
matches the voltage.
Replace the Servo Drive.
Connect the CW pulse sig-
nal to the CW Input and the
CCW pulse signal to the
CCW Input.
Wire correctly.
Review and adjust the ma-
chine.
• Reduce the load.
• Replace it with the Servo-
motor and Servo Drive with
higher capacity.
Wire correctly.
Set the Servo Drive's pulse
type to match the Control-
ler's command pulse type.
• Use autotuning.
• Perform manual tuning.
Correct the wiring so that
there is no chattering.
