14.5 Resetting NIBP

When the pressure does not work properly and the system fails to give a message for the problem,
click on RESET via USER MAINTAIN > NIBP MAINTAIN to activate self-test procedure,
and thus restore the system from abnormal performance.

14.6 Calibrating NIBP

NIBP is not user-calibrated. Cuff-pressure transducers must be verified and calibrated on a yearly
interval by a qualified service professional. See the Service Manual for details.

14.7 Leak Test

This item is used for leak test. Turn the knob to pick the LEAK TEST item in the USER
MAINTAIN > NIBP MAINTAIN menu to start the air leakage test. When the item is selected,
it will change into STOP LEAK TEST. If this item is selected again, the system will stop air
leakage test. And the item returns to LEAK TEST.
This pneumatic test other than being specified in the EN 1060-1 standard is to be used by
the user to simply determine whether there are air leaks in the NIBP airway. If at the end
of the test the system gives the prompt that the NIBP airway has air leaks, please contact
the manufacturer for repair.
Procedure of Leak Test
Connect the cuff securely with the socket for NIBP air hole.
Wrap the cuff around the cylinder of an appropriate size.
Access USER MAINTAIN > NIBP MAINTAIN.
Turn the knob to the LEAK TEST item and press the item. Then the prompt of Leak
testing... will appear indicating that the system has started performing leak test.
The system will automatically inflate the pneumatic system to about 180 mmHg.
After 20 seconds, the system will automatically open the deflating valve, which marks
the completion of a pneumatic measurement.
If the prompt of Pneum test over appears, it indicates that the airway is in good
situation and no air leaks exist. However if the alarm information of NIBP AIR LEAK
appears, it indicates that the airway may have air leaks. In this case, the user should
check for loose connection. After confirming secure connections, the user should
re-perform the pneumatic test. If the failure prompt still appears, please contact the
manufacturer for repair.
