Preparations for use

Setting an ergonomic working height

G-30-1426-en
Operation
Move the surgical microscope to a convenient position before each sur-
gical procedure and set the optimum ergonomic working height of the
stand via the lifting column (without patient!).
As long as you keep switch (2) pressed down, the lifting column (1) in the
stand base moves upwards or downwards, depending on the position of
the switch. When you release the switch, the lifting column stops immedi-
ately.
The switching technology causes a dead time of approx. 2 seconds at the
upper and lower end positions of the lifting column. After expiry of this
time, you can move in the opposite direction again by activating switch
(2).
Note:
The lifting column moves the microscope in the OP position prior to the
operation.
Do not constantly move the lifting column up and down, since a thermal
cut-out then automatically switches off the drive motor. If this occurs, the
lifting column can be moved again only when the motor has cooled down.
Warning!
– Do not activate the lifting column during surgery!
– Do not use the lifting column for focusing.
– When using the fundus-imaging system which is installed between the
surgical microscope and the patient, make sure that the patient is nei-
ther put at risk nor injured:
– by the motorized movement of the lifting column,
– by the motorized focusing system,
– by the movement of the suspension arm.
