This is the service strategy used in field service, and presented in ZEISS training classes. Level 2 (workshop repair) include procedures which are not possible on-site or where on-site repair was not successful.
Service bulletins are confidential and proprietary documents for the sole use of personnel employed by ZEISS. As a ZEISS employee, subsidiary or distributor you are required to handle your service bulletins as appropriate for proprietary and confidential information. Service Manual...
The service strategy for IOLMaster 700 envisages that field service must only be performed by appropriately trained technicians authorized by ZEISS. These activities are described in this service manual and are dealt with in detail during the service training for this product.

IOLMaster 700 Parts Removal Replacement 3.3.5 CMOS Battery Note The CMOS battery (also referred to as BIOS battery) typically lasts between 2 – 10 years (dependent on operating conditions and usage). Therefore it is recommended that the CMOS battery be replaced every 5 years.

Adjustment and Calibration 4.2 Service Mode The IOLMaster 700 has a service mode which can be accessed using the Windows user account: CZMService. The passwords must not be distributed to any non-authorised person. The usage of the service mode is restricted to certified field service engineers (FSEs), trained from an authorised ZEISS trainer.

Adjustment and Calibration IOLMaster 700 4.4.2 Paddle Polarisation The Paddle Polarisation procedure allows accurate adjustment of the paddle position to ensure maximum SNR during measurement. The paddle polarisation tool will be automatically removed after restarting the instrument, therefore it must be installed each time the procedure is performed.

Alternatively when removable media is connected and the instrument restarted, the updater automatically runs. Log files The Export button opens a window for selecting the folder for backing up log files. After selecting the desired folder the window must be closed by tapping the Select button and the files will be exported.
IOLMaster 700 4.5.4 Deleting corrupt databases The IOLMaster 700 database management is handled by Microsoft SQL Server. Microsoft SQL Server has the ability to repair and restore damaged/corrupt databases. However, in some cases such as instrument power loss or incorrect shutdown, the database/s can become corrupted to a point that it can no longer be repaired or restored, resulting in data loss.

It is possible for the user to create a service package without assistance from a field service engineer (FSE).
