6.2.
Use a press to separate the axle oil seal (15) from the adapter ring (39) (Figure 17-3, Page 17-2). Retain
the adapter ring and discard the oil seal.
7.
Inspect the axle shaft assembly to be sure the bearing and collar have not slipped and are still seated against
the shoulder on the axle shaft.
8.
Inspect bearing (5) (Figure 17-5, Page 17-3). If the bearing in a Type G transaxle is worn or damaged, the
entire axle shaft assembly (1 or 2) must be replaced.
