- Boucher les orifices d•admission et d'echappement avec
des chiffons prop res impr6gnes d'hui le ELF STOCKAGE
- oebrancher et debarquer la batterie afin de l a confier

LAYING UP FOR WINTER

If the boat is not used during winter, but laid up either
ashore or afloat, proceed as fo l lows
ASHORE
- Immerse the raw water suction pipe in a receptacle
supplied with water
ASHORE OR AFLOAT
- Fill up with storage oil (ELF STOCK AGE or local
equivalent}
- Start the engine and run at fast idling speed for half
an hour
- Stop the engine and drain off the storage oil
- Shut off the sea cock cind the
- Drain the water and the storage oi I
- P lug up intake and exhaust openings with c lean rags
soaked in storage oil
- Disconnect and remove battery and entrust it to an
electrician who wil l maintain it by periodical charging
- Remove electrical equipment and have it checked(star­
ter, alternator etc
)

- Drain fuel tank to prevent deposits and impurities
- Replace fuel filter e lement
- Treat control mane l and engine connections with pro-
tective spray
N. B. there is no harm in mixing the smal I remaining
quantity of storage oil with ordinary oil when restarting
after lay-up.
