MODEL 2234 DIGITAL FLOW COMPUTER ___________________________
2.5.5.2 A-C POWERED CONTACT CLOSURE CIRCUITS
The diode type arc suppression cannot be used when the inductive circuits are
powered from an A-C source. Instead, use a series connected resistor and capacitor
to suppress the arc. The values of the components of this series network must be
selected per supply voltages used, contact ratings, and load characteristics. Connect
the series network across the coil. With a supply voltage of 24 VAC, a typical
network consists of a 100 Ohm, one-half watt resistor and a 0.02 to 0.05
microfarad capacitor. With a supply voltage of 12 VAC, a typical network consists
of a 30 Ohm, one-half watt resistor and a 0.1 microfarad capacitor.
