Probable Cause
1.
Worn or malfunctioning pump.
2.
Priority valve not opening correctly.
3.
Malfunctioning relief valve.
4.
Overloaded steering axle.
5.
Air in hydraulic system.
6.
Malfunctioning steering orbitrol.
7.
Malfunction in steering mode valve.
8.
Mechanical failure.
1.
Dirt in steering orbitrol (causing
sleeves to stick open).
2.
Steering actuator centering springs
damaged or broken.
3.
Steering actuator - position of rotor to
shaft slot incorrect.

Action
1.
Repair or replace pump.
2.
Check for sticky spool. Repair or
replace.
Check load sense line for leaks or
poor connection.
3.
Replace the priority valve.
4.
Reduce the load.
5.
Bleed system - bleed the load sense
line.
6.
Remove and inspect.
7.
Check if spools are sticking. Repair or
replace.
Check if solenoids are operating.
Replace if needed.
8.
Check for damaged axle components,
such as cylinders, tie rods, linkages,
etc.

Clean and inspect unit.
2.
Check orbitrol. Repair or replace.
3.
See page 10-14. Correct if required.
