Default values are appropriate for most configurations, but may be modified for your needs using the ExpressNAV
VTL manager.

Customizing the user name, password

It is best practice to change the default user name and
password. Refer to the CLI commands
PartitionWriteCache
on page xvii of the Appendix and
Username
on page xxii of the Appendix.

Open a CLI session either using Telnet or the
serial port as described in
page 33.

Type set Username [user name]

Press Enter.

Creating a read-only user name, password

You may wish to set up a read-only user name and
password to prevent changes to storage and
FastStream VT settings. Refer to the CLI command
ReadOnlyUsername
on page xviii of the Appendix

Open a Command Line Interface session either
using Telnet or the serial port as described in
Interface Options
on page 33.

Type set ReadOnlyUsername [name]

Customizing system configurations

You may change several parameters using the
System Configuration page of the ExpressNAV
VTL manager.

If you are not already in the ExpressNAV VTL
Manager, type the IP address of your appliance
in a standard browser. On the splash screen,
click Enter Here. In the box provided , type in
your user name and password, and click OK .
If you have already created a VTL or initialized
drives, the Monitor VTL page appears. In the
left menu, click Manage , then click the
FastStream VT arrow.
If you have not yet created a VTL or initialized
drives, the Initial Setup page appears.

all user interface sessions are changed.

Select the items you wish to change and type in
text boxes as required. A choice may be greyed
because it is not available based on a previous
choice.
• Appliance name: give this FastStream VT a
name which is significant to you if you are
managing several ATTO devices from a
single workstation.
