Read only drive test

The read only test performs a non-destructive scan
over the entire surface of each drive to identify bad
areas of the disk drives and determine read
performance. It may be run while data is passing
through the FastStream.
Running this test may negatively impact performance.
Once the Read-only test has completed, system
operation returns to normal.
To fix errors on disks, use the Initialize and Verify
Drives process as described in
on page 15.

Drive performance and health

Another way to determine the status of your drives is
to use the Drive Performance and Health page.

appears.
• Select Show Help Text and Drives for an
alternative view of the test progress.
• During the tests the Time Remaining box
tells you how much time remains until the
verification process is complete. The

Identifying a drive attached to the FastStream

You may want to physically identify a drive attached to
the FastStream.

Click Next.

If no drives appear in the information box, click
System Scan .
If drives are available, select the drives you
wish to test. The drives are highlighted.

Click Commit.

A warning box appears. In the warning box,
verify that you want to complete the
configuration by selecting Yes . Selecting No
ends the procedure without making a change.
The Drive Performance and Health page
appears listing which tests are running and their
results. You may select other tests to run or
continue on to other tasks.

Metrics section.
• Drive errors appear in the Drive Errors
section of the page.

When the test is complete, select each drive to
see its information highlighted in the Drive
Metrics window.
If you close the browser or navigate away from this
page, you may re-access these results by clicking
Diagnostics on the left menu and choosing Drive
Performance and Health on the Diagnostics
page. Results are available until the FastStream is
restarted.

Select Identify Drive .

The Identify Drive page appears. Select the
drive you wish to identify. Only one drive may
be selected at a time.

Click Commit . The I/O LED of the drive
illuminates for one minute.

To stop the operation, unselect the drive.
