10.0 Update Storage, Firmware

You can update the ATTO FastStream VT at any time. Refer to
Several methods are available to update the ATTO
FastStream firmware and to re-initialize unattached

Cleaning RAID configuration information

This feature only works with drives that belong to RAID
groups and drives that had once been part of a RAID
group and are now flagged Replaced .
CAUTION CAUTION
Data is erased during this process. Back
up your data before selecting Commit .
These operations have a negative impact
on the performance of normal operations.
All activity should be stopped.
1 If you are not already in the ExpressNAV VTL
Manager, type the IP address of your
FastStream in a standard browser. On the
splash screen, click Enter Here. In the box
provided , type in your user name and
password, and click OK .
2 Click Diagnostics from the left menu.

Updating firmware

Firmware updates are available on the ATTO website.
Contact your ATTO sales representative for complete
information.
The ATTO FastStream has several processors which
control the flow of data. The firmware to control these
processors can be upgraded in the field using the
ExpressNAV VTL Manager.
Be sure all data is backed up before updating firmware
to prevent data loss.
CAUTION CAUTION
Ensure that all I/O to the ATTO FastStream
has stopped. During this procedure, do not
interrupt the flash process.

3 Select Clean RAID Configuration Data.
4 Click Next.
5 Select the drive you wish to process. The drive
is highlighted.
6 Click Commit .
7 A warning message appears. Select yes to
continue.
8 The Health and Status Monitor screen
appears
Note
To clean Hot Spare information from a drive,
use the Add/Delete Hot Spares feature to
delete the Hot Spare. Refer to
operations: adding or removing Hot Spares
on page 30.
1 The ATTO FastStream firmware is distributed
as an image file ( .ima ). Download the
appropriate firmware file from the ATTO
website or insert the Installation CD containing
the file into your computer.
2 If you are not already in the ExpressNAV VTL

click Enter Here. In the box provided , type in
your user name and password, and click OK .
3 The VTL Monitor page appears.
4 Click Diagnostics on the left side of the
ExpressNAV VTL Manager.
