Use the ExpressNAV interface to replace a failed drive, add new drives or redesign VTL configurations.
The ExpressNAV interface takes you step by step
through many procedures which allow you to
modify your storage and VTL. Read all notes and
cautions carefully as you go to ensure the best
performance and use of your storage.
Be cautious when deleting storage or rearranging
storage configurations because data could be
compromised or lost. Many of these procedures
are only available when using unallocated drives
or storage.

Preliminary steps

Note
An unallocated drive or unallocated storage is
storage which is not part of a RAID group, not
designated as a Hot Spare or was offline when
you initially set up a RAID configuration using
the ExpressNAV interface.

If you are not already in the ExpressNAV
interface, type the IP address of your appliance,
Virtual Tape Library operations
You may add to, delete or change the VTLs in
your configuration using the ExpressNAV
interface.

delete the VTL by clicking on Yes. Clicking on
No ends the procedure without making a
