Diagnostics and Troubleshooting

For local display

Error
Local display dark and no
output signals
Local display is dark, but
signal output is within the
valid range
Backlighting of local dis-
play is red
Message on local display:
"Communication Error"
"Check Electronics"
Possible Causes
Supply voltage does not
match the value indicated
on the nameplate.
The polarity of the supply
voltage is wrong.
No contact between con-
necting cables and termi-
nals.
Terminals are not plugged
into the I/O electronics
module correctly. Termi-
nals are not plugged into
the main electronics mod-
ule correctly.
I/O electronics module is
defective. Main electron-
ics module is defective.
Display is set too bright or
too dark.
The display module cable
is not plugged in correctly.
Display module is defec-
tive.
Diagnostic event with
"Alarm" diagnostic behav-
ior has occurred.
Communication between
the display module and
the electronics is inter-
rupted.

Solution
Apply the correct supply
voltage →  15.
Correct the polarity.
Check the cable connec-
tion and correct if neces-
sary.
Check terminals.
Order spare part → 

Set the display
brighter by simulta-
neously pressing  +

Set the display darker
by simultaneously
pressing  + .
Insert the plug correctly
into the main electronics
module and display mod-
ule.

Take remedial measures.
Check the cable and
