Operating the instrument
If you press the key
briefly
then a return is made from any point in the parameter input mode to the
particular main menu. All confirmed entries made up to this point are retained;
however, if entries have been made in an input line which have not been confirmed
by either ENT or one of the vertical arrow keys then such entries will be rejected
when the ESC-key is pressed.

Pressing the ESC-key for a longer time switches the instrument off; please take
care that this is not done inadvertently.

Changing the basic settings (setup)

The basic settings of the instrument can be altered in the setup menu. The setup menu
is accessed by pressing the key
The setup menu consists of 5 pages; you can browse between them by using the two
vertical arrow keys. Parameters are entered in exactly the same way as for measuring
methods (see previous section).
Entering the letters given on the keys below the numbers is carried out in the same
way as using a telephone with letter keys. In order to enter a letter you must press
the particular key briefly the number of times in succession which corresponds to
the position of the printed letter on the key. The number shown on the key is always
in the last position.
