Thermostatting the gas phase with the TJ20 (optional)

Temperature variations at the interface cause a measuring inaccuracy which increases
as the temperature increases. With the aid of the optional TJ20 System this error can
be avoided by thermostatting the gas phase above the interface.
Before measurements with a thermostatted gas phase are carried out with the TJ20
the following preparations must be made.
1. If measurements are made with the TJ20 an external PT100 temperature sensor
can still be connected. However, owing to the higher construction an extension for
PT100 holder must be built in.
2. Normally the thermostatted sample vessel holder and gas thermostatting ring are
switched in series, i.e. the thermostat liquid first flows through the thermostatted
sample vessel holder and then through the gas thermostatting ring. In this case the
Quick-Lock coupling between the K11 and the inlet of the thermostat jacket
remains in place. The outlet tubing (Quick-Lock male) is removed from the K11
connection and connected to the female on the inlet tubing of the glass ring (tubing
to upper connection). The outlet tubing of the ring (lower connection) is then
inserted into the free connection of the K11 sample chamber.
