Illumination

When the instrument is switched on the measuring chamber illumination is switched on
automatically. The illumination releases only a small amount of heat so that the
measuring chamber temperature does not change. If you want to work without any
illumination you can switch the light on and off with the key
.
You cannot use this function when you are in the parameter input mode for the
measuring methods or setup, as the key is then used for entering numbers or
letters.

Stirrer

The stirrer is switched on and off with the key
.
The stirrer bar continually changes its direction of rotation at regular intervals. Stirrer
speed and interval (duration of rotation in one direction) are entered in the setup menu.

The stirrer must be switched off during measurements.
You cannot use this function when you are in the parameter input mode for the
measuring methods or setup, as the key is then used for entering numbers or
letters.
With the standard thermostat jacket, the stirrer works electromagnetically. This
means that measurements on ferromagnetic samples are not affected after
switching off the stirrer. Also, the magnetic field cannot affect the force sensor.

A permanent magnet is used for the special thermostat jacket for more viscous
samples. Ferromagnetic samples cannot be measured.
