Mirroring
The "mirroring" function can only be used with linear axes.
Mirroring of one axis
The "mirroring " function is selected via the PLC. The machine manufacturer determines the
M function with which the signal for mirroring is implemented.
By mirroring of one coordinate axis, a contour can be machined
•
with the same dimensions,
•
at the same distance from the other axes,
•
on the other side of the mirror axis and as a mirror image.
When mirroring an axis the control changes
•
the sign of the coordinates of the mirrored axis,
•
the direction of rotation in the case of circular interpolation (G02-G03, G03-G02),
•
the direction of machining (G41-G42, G42-G41).
There is no mirroring of:
•
Tool length offsets
•
Zero offsets.
This setting can be modified via machine data
(TO mirroring/TO non-mirroring in the transverse
Note:
In the case of turning machines the following will be mirrored with a transverse axis as a
function of machine data:
•
Tool length offset
•
Position of tool cutting point
When mirroring the Z axis this does not apply.
