10.1

Robotics Installation Requirements

10.1.1 General Information
• ExacTrac Robotics requires the Brainlab imaging couch top.
• ExacTrac Robotics and Brainlab imaging couch top are about 0.1 m higher than the original
Varian Exact couch top.
• Re-calibrate your Varian Exact couch after installing ExacTrac Robotics and Brainlab imaging
couch top due to this height difference. This service is provided by Varian and is included in the
Brainlab article number, 24440-60: Couch Modification for Imaging Couch Top/Robotics.
• The total installation time including Varian service is approximately 2 days.
• The 3rd party video cameras that monitor the linac bunker must always show a good side view
of the patient at any table angle.
• ExacTrac Robotics will be permanently attached to the treatment couch pedestal.
• ExacTrac Robotics are powered by batteries that need to be re-charged every night. You must
provide a power plug for the battery charger (country specific; protection class II, ungrounded)
at a maximum distance of 6 m from the treatment couch (cable length: 1.5 m mains + 8 m DC).
