X-Ray Generator

General Information
The dual generator contains two single generator high-power supplies, which remain in low power
consumption during standby. During exposure, only one high power supply is active. The
maximum power consumption of a dual generator is the same as a single generator with the
advantage of a rapid and automatic tube switchover.
Power consumption is high when ExacTrac kV imaging runs simultaneously with MV delivery.
Therefore, ensure the 2 systems are on separate circuit breakers.

The HFe generator without pre-transformer can be directly connected to:
• 400 V AC star (3 phases + neutral)
A TN star network provides all five required lines (L1, L2, L3, N, PE) that must be connected
(400 V phase to phase and 230 V neutral to phase). Minimal requirement: Star network (3
phases + neutral). PE has to be connected separately from the generator PE bar to a local
grounding point in this case.
Brainlab provides two pre-transformers if a TN network is present, but the voltage differs
from 400 V:
• 208 V AC star TN
• 420 V/440 V/480 V AC star TN
Brainlab provides one pre-transformer for a special delta power network:
• 208 V AC delta (mainly for Japan)
You must specify the provided nominal voltage and grid type (star or delta).
If none of the provided pre-transformers is appropriate, you are responsible for providing the
star 400 V network.
