LED control: Driven by liquid crystal controls in the panel board

What character is displayed in what position: Controlled by IC7 (main processor) and IC4 (liquid
crystal controller) in the panel circuit

Message data, executable programs, and character codes: Stored in the PROM on the panel
board.

Each character on the liquid crystal is made up of 16 x 16 dots or 16 x 8 dots. The whole panel
consists of 320 x 240 dots.
Graphic data are written by the main CPU to the liquid crystal controller at the RAM address corre-
sponding to the position at which it is to be displayed. The LCD controller then sends the data to the
LCD.
