The SpO alarms can be disabled/enabled while in

any ventilation mode via the configuration screen:
1. Press the >Config< soft key (1 in
the standard or data screen.
The Volumes/Alarms configuration screen is
displayed (refer to Figure
2. Select and confirm the "Alarms On/Off" column
using the confirm knob.
3. Select and confirm the "SpO
confirm knob.
4. Select and confirm "On" or "Off" using the
confirm knob.

Bypass Mode

The bypass mode permits patient monitoring without
unnecessary alarms during extra-corporeal
oxygenation of the patient by a heart lung machine.
All gas concentrations are measured independently
of the breathing phase in bypass mode. It can be
used in all active ventilation modes.
When bypass mode is activated, all CO
pressure apnea alarms, and SpO
are automatically disabled.
To enable/disable bypass mode:
1. Press the >Config< soft key (1 in
the standard or data screen.
The Volumes/Alarms configuration screen is
displayed (refer to Figure
2. Select and confirm the "Alarms On/Off" column
using the confirm knob.
3. Select and confirm the "Bypass Mode" option
using the confirm knob.
4. Select and confirm "On" or "Off" using the
confirm knob.
The indication "Bypass Mode" is displayed in the
status field when the mode is active (see
Bypass mode remains activated when changing
ventilation modes; it is deactivated when the
machine is set to Standby.
Deactivating bypass mode immediately enables all
CO and pressure apnea alarms, but SpO
2
measurement and alarms are enabled only when a
pulse signal is detected.
