Suppressing Alarms

Silencing Audible Alarms

The audible alarms can be silenced for a period of
two minutes.
To silence all audible alarms:
Press the
key on the side of the monitor
screen (1 in
Figure
103).
The yellow LED on the key lights, and the
symbol "
" appears in the status field on the
screen, together with the time remaining in the
silence period (mm:ss) (2 in
To enable the audible alarms again:
Press the
again. The yellow LED on the
key goes out, the indication is removed from
the status field, and all audible alarms are
enabled.

Disabling Alarms

CAUTION !
National standards require a minimum monitoring
with some alarm functions. These standards may
not be met if the alarm function of the etCO2
monitoring parameter is disabled.

Audio and visual alarms can be disabled by adjusting
the default alarm limits in the Standby configuration
screen. Certain alarms can also be disabled
automatically, based on ventilation mode. See the
"Configuration" chapter for complete information.
During operation certain alarms can be disabled
globally (see
"Disabling/Enabling Alarms Globally
During Operation" on page
