Chapter 12 - Troubleshooting

Display Failure

If there is no display on the monitor screen:
Switch the machine off.
Set O
flow to the desired level using the total

flow meter.
Check the vaporizer setting.
Ventilate patient by hand.
Provide adequate substitute monitoring.

User Interface Failure

If the keypads, confirm knob, or flow control knobs
are not operational:
Select the monitoring mode (see page 126).
Ventilate patient by hand.
Observe the total flow meter for approximate
flow (see the Specifications section of the
manual for accuracy).

System Failure

If the system no longer responds to an action:
1. Ventilate the patient by hand.
2. Switch the machine off and on again.
3. Cancel the self test.
4. Check the vaporizer setting.
5. Close all flow controls (except O

If the breathing bag does not fill with fresh gas
or manual ventilation is not possible:
check the oxygen supply; open cylinder
valves if necessary
If fresh gas is still not delivered:
close all flow controls
disconnect the patient from the
workstation and use another device
