5.22 Mainboard

● There are two types of mainboards: mainboard for the server with Kunpeng
● This section uses the server with Kunpeng 920 7260, 5250, or 5230 processors
Removing the Mainboard
Step 1 Confirm the iBMC and BIOS configurations with the customer for quick recovery
after replacing the mainboard.
Step 2 Log in to the iBMC and record iBMC, BIOS, and CPLD firmware versions of the
mainboard to be replaced. (Choose Information > System Info > Product Info >
Mainboard Info on the iBMC WebUI or run the ipmcget -d version command on
the iBMC CLI.)
Step 3 (Optional) Export the iBMC and BIOS configuration files. For details, see "Import/
Export" in the
mainboard, you can quickly restore the server configuration by importing the
iBMC and BIOS configuration files.
Step 4 Wear an ESD wrist strap. For details, see
Step 5 Power off the server. For details, see
Step 6 Remove the power cables. For details, see

Step 8 Remove the FlexIOs. For details, see
Step 9 Remove the chassis cover. For details, see

920 7260, 5250, or 5230 processors and mainboard for the server with Kunpeng
920 5220 or 3210 processors. Before replacing the mainboard, obtain the spare
part based on the processor model. For details about how to query the server

removing and installing the mainboard are the same for the server configured
with Kunpeng 920 5220 or 3210 processors.
TaiShan Rack Server iBMC User Guide
● The iBMC and BIOS configuration files exported from the iBMC can be directly imported
after the mainboard replacement. However, the exported configuration files do not
contain password information. You need to manually configure the password for the
iBMC user. For details, see "Import/Export" in the
Guide
.
● If the iBMC of the mainboard to be replaced cannot be logged in or the iBMC and BIOS
configuration files are not exported before the mainboard is replaced, you need to
manually configure the iBMC and BIOS after replacing the mainboard.
