Connecting to a 3-wire PNP-compatible device
Connect Matrox 4Sight GPm to a 3-wire PNP-compatible device, as shown
below. In addition, connect the ground of the PNP-compatible device and the
ground of Matrox 4Sight GPm to a common ground.
The load is connected between the input of your Matrox 4Sight GPm and the
positive contact of the power supply.

All grounds on this unit share a common ground.
When using an input voltage above 5 V, we recommend adding a 4.7 KΩ serial
resistor to the Matrox 4Sight GPm inputs.
If the expected frequency of the incoming signal is above 1 KHz, a pull-down
resistor should be used to ensure that the signal can transition quickly to the logical
low level. This is important when dealing with long cables. The exact value for
the pull-down resistor must be calculated according to your device's maximum
output drive capability. 10 KΩ should be adequate for the majority of cases.
❖ Note that your PNP-sensing sourcing device and your Matrox 4Sight GPm must
share a common ground.
