Requirements
– A PC with the following features:
Intel Pentium 1 GHz or compatible processor
Windows XP (as of Service Pack 3), Windows
Vista 32-/64-Bit (as of Service Pack 2), Windows 7
32-/64-Bit, Mac OS X (as of 10.4), Linux (as of
Kernel 2.6)
Memory RAM: 256 MB, recommended 512 MB;
for Windows Vista/7: 1024 MB, for 64-bit 2048 MB
Browser for the configuration: Recommended
browsers: Microsoft Internet Explorer as of version
7.0, Mozilla Firefox as of version 3.0, Safari as of
version 5.0
USB interface according to USB specification 1.1
or 2.0
Transmission Control Protocol /Internet Protocol
CD-ROM or DVD drive
Mouse or compatible pointing device
SVGA graphics card with a resolution of 1024 x
768, recommended 1280 x 1024, and 65536
colours (16 bit)
– Existing USB connection between the PC and the
PBX. See

– RNDIS driver is installed
– Computer and PBX on the same network
Note: When connected via the USB interface, the
PBX is permanently set to be a DHCP server which
automatically assigns an IP address to the PC. The
PC, on the other hand, automatically receives its IP
address after the RNDIS driver is installed.
Also note that the last byte of the IP address for the
USB configuration is permanently set to 240
(XXX.XXX.XXX.240).
Steps to Take
1.
Start a browser (for example, Mozilla Firefox).
2.
Enter http:// and the IP address of the PBX in the
address field of the browser.
Important: In the case of some browsers, superflu-
ous zeroes may cause problems. For this reason, you
should not enter e.g. 192.168.021.002 instead of
192.168.21.2.
The browser settings are then checked.
The page for entering the basic settings opens.

Configuring the PBX via the USB Port

Note: This page only appears during the initial
system set-up.
3.
Enter at least the admin PIN.
4.
Click Execute.
5.
Click Next.
The login window opens.
6.
Enter the user name admin.
7.
Enter the admin PIN.
8.
Click Login.
The configuration manager opens.
9.
Configure the settings you want.
Note: The PBX configuration manual (available as a
PDF on the accompanying Auerswald Mega Disk)
includes configuration instructions as well as a
detailed description of each feature on the PBX. It
also includes information about the hardware and
software requirements, about configuring the PBX as
well as using the features. Please refer to the Online
Help for additional information on the individual
settings. This can be accessed from any page in the
configuration manager by clicking the question mark
icon
