2.3.4 Load

For good positioning behaviour, the CMAX must be adjusted
to the load. Here, the load represents the total mass to be
moved with the positioning drive, including the weight of the
piston and the slide. It consists of the mass of the workpiece
which generally changes during the process and all other
parts of the drive with mass, such as pistons, piston rods,
slides, workpiece grippers or gripper units, etc. which are
defined during the design engineering, and generally do not
change:
Load =
workpiece mass
+ total moving mass without workpiece
There is a maximum and a minimum permissible load. The
permissible load depends on:
the type of drive used
the diameter of the drive used
the selected mounting position
the operating pressure.
Make sure that in all load situations the effective load:
is at least equal to the minimum permissible load.
This especially applies when there is no workpiece.
If necessary, fasten an additional mass / load to the slide.
The maximum permissible load must not be exceeded.
