Chapter 5 Special Effects Operations
When any of the video signal effects in the VIDEO MODIFY
menu are applied (posterization, solarization, negative image, sepia
cast, monochrome, contrast adjustment or mosaic), this function
applies a mask pattern so that the effect is only applied inside
(normal) or outside (inverted) the mask pattern.
Note
It is not possible to apply two or more of the border, mask, and
lighting effects simultaneously.
In the VIDEO MODIFY menu, press F5 (MASK) to display the
MASK menu.

The following are some of the operations carried out in this menu.
Press F1 (MODIFY MASK).
When this is "ON", the mask function is enabled.
By selecting the "Edge softness" item in the MASK menu and
turning the left knob ("Soft"), it is possible to vary the degree of
softening of the edge.
