Communication Protocols
In addition to the ETHERNET standard, the following important
communication protocols are implemented in the WAGO ETHERNET based
(programmable) fieldbus couplers and controllers:
• IP Version 4 (Raw-IP and IP-Multicast )
• TCP
• UDP
• ARP
The following diagram is intended to explain the data structure of these
protocols and how the data packets of the communication protocols
ETHERNET, TCP and IP with the adapted application protocol MODBUS
nested in each other for transmission. A detailed description of the tasks and
addressing schemes of these protocols is contained in the following.
