10.14.2 Emission Requirements
According to the EMC product standard for adjustable speed drives EN/IEC 61800-3:2004, the EMC requirements depend on
the environment in which the drive is installed. These environments along with the mains voltage supply requirements are
defined in Table 10.38.
The drives comply with EMC requirements described in IEC/EN 61800-3 (2004)+AM1 (2011), category C3, for equipment
having greater than 100 A per-phase current draw, installed in the second environment. Compliance testing is performed
with a 150 m (492 ft) shielded motor cable.
Category Definition
(EN 61800-3)
C1 First environment (home and office) with a supply voltage less than 1000 V.
C2 First environment (home and office) with a supply voltage less than 1000 V, which
is not plug-in or movable and where a professional is intended to be used to
install or commission the system.
C3 Second environment (industrial) with a supply voltage lower than 1000 V.
C4 Second environment with the following:
•
Supply voltage equal to or above 1000 V.
•
Rated current equal to or above 400 A.
•
Intended for use in complex systems.
