It is recommended that all chapters of this manual be reviewed prior to product use. Carefully read the Safety Tips section
in the Introduction chapter of this manual prior to performing nursing care for a patient on the KinAir MedSurg Pulse
System.

CPR

1.
Flip CPR Lever down and away from foot end of unit to engage CPR function:
The CPR Lever is located on the center of the frame on both the left and right
sides of the unit.
2.
Lower Head and Foot of bed to provide a flat surface for delivering effective CPR.
NOTE: A crashboard is not required.
3.
Lower Side Rails. Remove Headboard, as needed.
4.
Begin CPR.
NOTE: Patient's weight and the CPR process will deflate cushions.
5.
After CPR is performed and patient is clinically stable:
Turn CPR Lever up and toward foot end of unit to inflate cushions and resume bed functions.
Raise and lock Side Rails, if used. (See related Risks and Precautions and Safety Tips sections in the Introduction
chapter of this manual.)
Adjust patient surface for patient comfort.

ALARMS

An audible alarm will sound when:
SEAT DEFLATE - Alarm will sound when Seat Deflate has been activated for longer than 12.50 minutes.
time is required, pressing ALARM SILENCE provides another 12.50 minutes of silence.
INSTAFLATE - Alarm will sound when InstaFlate is engaged. Pressing ALARM SILENCE provides 12.50 minutes of
silence.
CPR - Alarm will sound when CPR is engaged when unit is in use.
An audible alarm will sound if a 10% or more descrease in patient weight is detected.
On the Scale Control Panel, press EXIT ALARM button to turn Exit Alarm either ON or OFF.
An ALARM SILENCE button is also located on the Auxiliary Control Panel.
NOTE: Pressing ALARM SILENCE stops audible alarms; however, ALARM SILENCE LED will continue to flash until alarm
condition is cleared.
