3. Lower Side Rails. Remove Headboard, as needed.
4. Begin CPR.
NOTE: Patient's weight and the CPR process will deflate cushions.
5. After CPR is performed and patient is clinically stable:
•
Turn CPR Lever up and toward foot end of unit to inflate cushions and resume bed functions.
•
Raise and lock Side Rails, if required. (See related Risks and Precautions and Safety Tips sections in the
Introduction chapter of this manual.)
•
Adjust patient surface for patient comfort.

INSTAFLATE

Use InstaFlate / Memory Return knob to activate / deactivate InstaFlate. Use InstaFlate to assist in patient transfer and
bathing by increasing air pressures in all cushions, creating a firm surface. The InstaFlate / Memory Return knob is located in
the center of the frame on both the left and right sides of the unit.
To activate InstaFlate:
1. Turn INSTAFLATE / MEMORY RETURN knob clockwise.
NOTE: Audible alarm will sound when InstaFlate is activated. Press the ALARM SILENCE button to quiet alarm for
approximately 12.50 minutes.
2. Observe that cushions inflate to firm pressures.
3. Perform procedures, as required, following all institution protocols.
To deactivate InstaFlate:
1. Turn INSTAFLATE / MEMORY RETURN knob counterclockwise.
2. Observe that cushions return to preset pressures.

SEAT DEFLATE

Use Seat Deflate button to activate / deactivate Seat Deflate. Use Seat Deflate to assist patient exit and bedpan placement by
reducing the air pressures in the cushions of the body section by 50%. The Seat Deflate button is located slightly to the head
end of the center of the frame on both the left and right sides of the unit.
NOTE: A Seat Deflate button is also located on the Auxiliary Control Panel.
To activate Seat Deflate:
1. Press the Seat Deflate button.
2. Observe that the button remains pressed in, LED lights and cushions in the body section deflate.
3. Perform patient procedures, as required, following all institution protocols.
To deactivate Seat Deflate:
1. Press the Seat Deflate button.
