PATIENT POSITIONING

Trendelenburg / Reverse Trendelenburg

Use Trendelenburg / Reverse Trendelenburg to adjust patient support surface from 8° Trendelenburg to 8° Reverse
Trendelenburg.
NOTE: Trendelenburg positioning can be used to prevent patient migration.
Prior to activating Trendelenburg or Reverse Trendelenburg, assess the security of all invasive lines and tubes to
accommodate the desired angle of articulation and minimize the risk of binding, disconnecting or dislodging; tubes and lines
should always have slack for patient movement.
1.
To place bed in Trendelenburg position:
Press the HEAD DOWN and FEET DOWN arrows to level patient support surface.
Press the BED UP arrow to raise patient surface to its full height.
Pull out the TRENDELENBURG lever located on the Bed Motion Control Panel, as
shown at right.
Press the BED DOWN arrow to adjust patient support surface from 0° to 8°
Trendelenburg.

To place bed in Reverse Trendelenburg position:
Press the HEAD and FEET DOWN arrows to level patient support surface.
To prevent patient migration during Reverse Trendelenburg, press the FEET UP arrow to raise the foot section of the
patient surface into a slight knee gatch.
Press the FOOT LOCKOUT button located on the Bed Motion Control Panel to lock out the knee gatch.
Press the BED UP arrow to raise patient surface to its full height.
Pull out the REVERSE TRENDELENBURG lever located on the Bed Motion Control
Panel, as shown at right.
Press the BED DOWN arrow to adjust patient support surface from 0° to 8° Reverse
Trendelenburg.
NOTE: Angle of Trendenlenburg and Reverse Trendelenburg are displayed on the
Trendelenburg Gauges located on each side of the unit's frame supports, as shown
at right.
