Patient Transfer From Chair

1.
Adjust the head of the unit to the fully raised position using the HEAD UP arrow on the Main Control Panel.
2.
Lower the foot of the unit to the fully down position using the FEET DOWN arrow on the Main Control Panel.
3.
Deflate cushions of the KinAir MedSurg Pulse bed:
Press CPR lever down and away from foot end of unit to engage CPR function.
Observe that cushions deflate and LED on the ALARM SILENCE button flashes.
4.
Lock brakes on unit and lower Side Rails.
5.
Transfer patient, following all applicable safety rules and institution protocols.
6.
Sit patient on side of unit, on the deflated cushions, with legs relaxed off the side of
unit.
7.
Level bed and position patient on mattress:
Position head on Head Support Pack and top of
shoulders between second and third cushions.
8.
Turn CPR Lever up and toward the foot end of unit to
disengage CPR function:
Observe the cushions return to maximum volumes.
Raise and lock Side Rails, if used. (See related Risks and Precautions and Safety Tips sections in the Introduction
chapter of this manual.)

PATIENT TRANSFER FROM THE KINAIR MEDSURG PULSE SYSTEM

Patient Transfer to Stretcher

1.
Level patient support surface.
2.
Turn INSTAFLATE / MEMORY RETURN knob clockwise to create a firm surface.
NOTE: You may silence the InstaFlate Alarm by pressing ALARM SILENCE.
3.
Lock brakes on both surfaces.
4.
Lower Side Rails, ensuring patient safety.
5.
Adjust support surface of bed to same level as surface to which patient is being transferred.
6.
Transfer patient, following all applicable safety rules and institution protocols.
7.
Turn INSTAFLATE / MEMORY RETURN knob counterclockwise to restore preset cushion pressure settings.
NOTE: Refer to the Power ON / OFF section in the Operating Instructions chapter of this manual, if patient will not be
returning to the bed.
