12.1 Cleaning
In order to maintain optimum copy quality, always keep the following areas clean.
12.1.1

Cleaning the ADF scanning glass

Keep the ADF scanning glass on the left of the original glass clean; otherwise soil marks may be printed,
resulting in dark lines on the images scanned from the ADF.
Raise the document feeder, then clean the glass with a clean soft
cloth.
NOTICE
Never use paint solvents, such as benzine or thinners, to clean the
ADF scanning glass.

Cleaning the Original Glass

Raise the document feeder, then clean the original glass with a clean
soft cloth. The glass may also clean with a soft cloth dampened
slightly with water, if it is difficult to clean.
NOTICE
Never use paint solvents, such as benzine or thinners, to clean the
original glass.
12.1.3

Cleaning the ADF Guide Cover

The ADF guide cover should be kept clean; otherwise soil marks may
be printed or the original size cannot be detected from the original
glass correctly. Raise the document feeder, then clean the cover with
a clean soft cloth.
NOTICE
Never use paint solvents, such as benzine or thinners, to clean the
original glass and ADF guide cover.
