Troubleshooting
Probable Causes
Envelopes are loaded incorrectly.
Envelopes are wrinkling.

Probable Causes
Paper remains jammed in the printer or finisher.
One of the printer doors is open.
Note: Check for, and remove, torn pieces of paper in the paper path.

Using paper of the wrong size, thickness,
or type.
Paper is loaded in the wrong tray.
Tray is loaded with mixed paper.

Solutions
Use paper of the correct size, thickness, or type. For more

Ensure that paper is loaded into the correct tray. For more
information, refer to
Load the tray with only one type and size of paper.

Solutions
You can print C5 envelopes from Tray 5. If the
optional Envelope Tray is installed, you can print a
range of envelopes from Tray 2.

• The heat and pressure of the laser printing
process can cause wrinkling.
• Use supported envelopes. For details, refer to
Guidelines for Printing
Note:
When you load envelopes long-edge
feed, ensure that you specify landscape
orientation in the print driver.
Solutions
Recheck the paper path and ensure that you have
removed all jammed paper from the printer and
finisher areas.
Open the left side door and check that the paper
sensors are clean.
Check the doors on the printer. Close any door that is
open.
