OF1 Audible Noise RAP
Use this RAP to isolate and identify the source of unusual noises.
Procedure
WARNING
Switch off the electricity to the machine. Disconnect the power cord from the customer
supply while performing tasks that do not need electricity. Electricity can cause death or
injury. Moving parts can cause injury.

Ask the customer if there are any specific machine functions that are noisy.
2.
Identify the source of the noise by exercising the machine in all modes.
3.
Use diagnostics to run individual components.

Possible causes are:
•
Contamination of the bushings and drive shafts.
Solution:

Clean the components.

Plastic bushings should be cleaned and lubricated with compatible grease.

Install new components as necessary.

Bearings in cooling fans

Mis-adjusted or worn drive belts.

Mis-aligned or damaged parts.

Check for parts that are damaged or out of position.
