INITIAL POWER-UP
6.1
Software Modules
The Data Management Unit (DMM) is required to carry out the following functions
simultaneously while recording.:
1. Capture video through the Video Module;
2. Record bridge audio and radio communications audio through the Audio Module;
3. Record serial data through the NMEA 0183/IEC 61162 NMEA Module;
4. Synchronize time to UTC/GMT through a GPS receiver feed or other time
references via a NMEA Module input;
5. Monitor the status of Power Supply and backup battery from the Power Control
Module through a serial communications port;
6. Provide Server Services to download client(s) in a Fast Ethernet LAN
configuration;
7. Store all data to a Final Storage Medium and allow user-initiated backups to a
redundant removable storage system, while still allowing this data to be
downloaded via the LAN for playback purposes;
8. Generate an alarm if an error condition develops in the VDR-100G3;
9. Auto Archive;
10. Transmit data as it is recorded for real time display; and
11. Allow user to secure and move data.
The DMM system software is a Windows XP application program. The program is
designed to support a multi-threaded operation. It provides the best ise of the CPU for
acquiring data, and synchronizing, and compressing multiple streams of data.
The following section describes the system software operation.
The VDR_Record application must be operated only by a Rutter
Technologies Inc representative or other authorized service personnel.
