Confirm the Rutter-ACR Float-free SFRM Capsule Recording
Once the VDR has recorded for 12 continuous hours the installer can check to confirm that the
Rutter-ACR Float-free SFRM Capsule is capturing selected data streams:
1. Deselect Record under the test menu of the VDR_Record application.
2. Recording will stop.
3. Disconnect the Rutter-ACR Float-free SFRM Capsule from the VDR;
4. Connect the Rutter-ACR Float-free SFRM Capsule to a free Ethernet port on the
Technician PC.
5. Confirm the Ethernet port on the Technician PC has an IP address on the same
subnet (192.168.0.x) as the Rutter-ACR Float-free SFRM Capsule's IP address.
6. If it is necessary to change the Technician PC Ethernet port address follow these
steps:
a. Open the Control Panel via the Start menu,
b. Double-click the Network Connections icon,
c. Right-click on the Ethernet port icon,
d. Select Properties from the pop-up menu,
e. In the Local Area Connection Properties window, highlight "Internet Protocol
(TCP/IP)" ,
f.
Click the "Properties" button located directly below the available options,
g. The Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window will open,
h. Select the "Use the following IP address" radio button,
i.
Enter 192.168.0.10 (the last number can be any number from 2 to 254, except
100.),
j.
Click the "OK" button in the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties,
k. Click the "OK" button in the Local Area Connection Properties,
l.
The connection should now be established.
7. Launch the FRM Download application.
8. Use the FRM Download application to download the recorded data from the Rutter-
ACR Float-free SFRM Capsule.
9. The application will indicate when the download is completed.
10. Exit the FRM Download application.
11. Open the Playback application on the Technician PC.
12. Select the downloaded FRM data set to playback.
13. Observe the beginning and end time (system contents) of the data set to ensure that
12 hours of data have been recorded to the FRM.
14. Select the beginning of the data set to start playback.
15. Observe that video, audio and NMEA have been recorded and that the start time of
each stream is 12 hours previous to the end time.
16. Stop playback.
17. Select the middle of the data set to playback.
18. Observe that video, audio, and NMEA have all been recorded.
19. Select the end of the data set to start playback.
20. Observe that video, audio and NMEA have all been recorded for 12 hours.
21. Stop playback.
22. Exit the application.
