A2.2.10
Approval Authority
From the options available in the accompanying drop-down box, select the approval authority
applicable to the installation. The "BSH Nr. 6543/080304/2003" is the default option. It may be
necessary to select one of the other 6 options available depending on the instructions of the
Classification Society that is certifying the installation.
A2.2.11
Classification Society
Enter the name of the Classification Society responsible for final inspection of the VDR
installation.
A2.2.12
Number of EPFS Present
Select the radio button which represents the correct number (1, 2, 3, or 4) of Electronic Position
Fixing System(s) (EPFS) present on the ship. If more than one EPFS is selected, the software will
make the applicable number of rows available for data entry (see Figure A2- 2 – EPFS below).
For each EPFS present the user must:
1. Enter its "Distance from Bow" in meters;
2. Enter its "Distance from Centerline" in meters;
3. Select either the Port or Starboard radio button to indicate its "Direction from Centerline";
4. Enter the Deck number and, if necessary, the name of the deck on which it is located.

Other Comments
This text field allows the user to enter any additional information necessary to complete the
configuration file.
