PROBLEM
Print appears smaller and
shrunk together or larger
and stretched out.
Printhead does not lift.
The printer display shows
"Top of Form" fault.
Printer prints entire quantity
of labels.

CAUSE
1. Print speeds in machine and
downloaded label are
mismatched.
2. Platen roller is dirty.
3. Loose pulley or drive belt.
4. Machine is not properly
rewinding the ribbon.
1. Sensor flag is out of
adjustment.
2. Printhead position sensor is
faulty.
3. Printhead position motor is not
working.
1. Incorrect label settings
1. GPIO connection is faulty.

TROUBLESHOOTING
SOLUTION
1. Verify the value for print speed in the
label setup and the print speed in the
printer options menu on the machine
match.
2. Clean the platen roller following the
Cleaning
procedure on page 2-3.
3. Check drive pulleys for tight fit on
shafts, and drive belts for proper tension
(see
Checking Belt Tension
6).
3. Troubleshoot the
Ribbon Rewind
Assembly
Components on page 3-76.
1. Refer to the
Printhead Pressure Cams
Section (page 3-94) for aligning the
sensor flag.
2. Refer to the
Printhead Position Sensor
Section (page 3-100) to replace the
sensor.
3. Ensure the motor cable is completely
plugged in, and troubleshoot the
Printhead Position Motor
necessary.
1. Reset the setting to the following:
SENSOR TYPE– Continuous
BACKFEED– 0
Refer to the Printer Flowchart on Page
A-5 in the appendix for menu paths.
1. Check the GPIO cable on the back of
the machine to ensure it is completely
plugged in and the pins and sockets are
not bent.
