PROBLEM
Machine will not print (con't).
Print appears light and/or
uneven.
Print has vertical lines
through the entire length of

5. Ribbon is threaded incorrectly.
6. Printhead cables are loose or
disconnected.
7. Printhead is severely out of
adjustment.
8. Printhead pressure is
incorrect.
9. Machine/printer
communication issue.
10. Printhead position assembly
is not functioning properly.
11. Machine is not properly
rewinding the ribbon.
1. Printing temperature is too
low.

improperly set.

TROUBLESHOOTING
SOLUTION
5. Rethread the ribbon according to the
web threading diagram on the outer
guard of the machine.
6. Ensure the cables on the printhead
are fully engaged.
7. Adjust the printhead screws in and/or
out and cycle machine to check for print
on bag film.
8. Refer to the Printhead Stepper Drive
Section (page 3-53) to adjust the drive.
9. Troubleshoot the Red Relay
41) and the Grey Relay
10. Refer to the Printhead Position
Assembly Section (page 3-89).
11. Troubleshoot the Ribbon Rewind
Assembly Components on page 3-76.
1. Increase the temperature setting in the
label setup area of the label
creation/printing software.
2. Adjust the printhead screws in and/or
out and cycle machine to check the print
on bag film.
3. Refer to the Printhead Stepper Drive
Section (page 3-53) to adjust the drive.
1. Clean printhead following the
procedure on page 2-3.
2. Refer to the Thermal Printhead
Section (page 3-102) to replace the
printhead.
1. Change the roll tension on the core
chuck spring to allow bags to feed
evenly.
