BIOS diagnostic codes and error messages
Description
The display type stored in CMOS does
not match the type detected by the BIOS.
Use the BIOS Setup program to correct
the problem.
The amount of memory indicated in
CMOS does not match the amount
detected by the BIOS. To correct the
problem, run the BIOS Setup program,
and then select the Write to CMOS and
Exit option.
The values stored in CMOS are corrupt
or non-existent. To correct the problem,
run the Setup program, and then select
the Write to CMOS and Exit option.
The time and date are not set in CMOS.
Use the Basic CMOS Configuration
subscreen to set the time and date.
There is a problem with the
configuration of the CPU.
The disk in the floppy drive is corrupt
and cannot be used to boot up the unit.
Replace the disk, and then follow the
instructions given on screen.
The DMA controller on the processor has
caused an error.
The BIOS cannot communicate with the
floppy drive controller. Check all
connections after powering down.
Gate A20 on the keyboard controller has
failed.
