Setting the Dialing Rules

Copies the global directory to this local system.

Group Name
Specifies the group name used for global directory entries in
the local directory. In the directory, entries from Global
Directory Servers are listed in the Polycom GDS group.
The 128 MB systems include Polycom VSX 3000A, Polycom VSX 5000, Polycom
VSX 6000A, Polycom VSX 7000s, Polycom VSX 7000e, and Polycom VSX 8000.
You can determine the memory size of your system by referring to the System
Information page (System > System Information); the memory size is noted as
(64) or (128) after the Model name.
If your system is connected to your organization's private network and also to
a public network, you may need to specify the codes and prefixes necessary for
dialing other systems.
To set the dialing rules:
1. Go to System > Admin Settings > Global Services > Dialing Rules.
2. Configure these settings:

Polycom VSX systems with 128 MB that are registered to
a Polycom CMA system can display up to 5000 global
directory entries.
Polycom VSX systems with 128 MB that are registered to
another Global Directory Server can display up to 4000
global directory entries.
Polycom VSX systems with 64 MB can display no more
than 1000 global directory entries.
Polycom VSX systems can display no more than 1000
global directory entries.
Description
Specifies that calls to sites in the same area code must
include the area code.
Specifies that calls to systems in the United States must
include a "1" before the area code.
Note: Even if you have this setting enabled, you may need
to dial 1 and the area code when calling long distance over
ISDN within your same area code.
